Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) is a special type of vinyl material used to decorate fabric and other surfaces through heat application. It’s commonly used for customizing t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, and more. Below are the key details about HTV:

1. Composition & Types

HTV is made of a thin layer of vinyl with an adhesive backing that activates when heated. It comes in various types, including:

  • Standard HTV – Solid colors, ideal for most fabric applications.
  • Glitter HTV – Adds a sparkly effect, great for decorative designs.
  • Flock HTV – Has a soft, suede-like texture.
  • Metallic HTV – Provides a shiny, foil-like finish.
  • Holographic HTV – Creates a multi-dimensional shine effect.
  • Stretch HTV – Designed for stretchy fabrics like spandex and athletic wear.
  • Glow-in-the-Dark HTV – Absorbs light and glows in the dark.
  • Patterned HTV – Comes with pre-printed designs.
  • Printable HTV – Used with inkjet or sublimation printers to print custom designs.

2. Application Process

  • Cutting: Use a cutting machine (e.g., Cricut, Silhouette, or Graphtec) to cut the design in reverse/mirror.
  • Weeding: Remove excess vinyl using a weeding tool.
